Free Walking Tour of Florence
We begin close to the central Piazza del Duomo, and observing the majestic facade of the Cathedral of Santa María del Fiore, a masterwork of Renaissance architecture, and discover interesting facts about the history of the Tuscan capital. And in the very same square, we'll see the iconic Brunelleschi bell tower, the story-book campanile di Giotto and, in the centre of the square the Battistero di San Giovanni where the famous 'gates to paradise' can be found. Each one a jewel of Renaissance architecture!
Our Florence free tour then continues, heading towards the Orsanmichele where you can appreciate the magnitude of the sculptures made by renowned artists such as Donatello. The next stop is in one of the very nerve centres of the city: the Piazza della Signoria. Outside the Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall, we'll recount some of the specifics about Florentine government throughout the ages. And next to the palace you can find a replica of David: the famous sculpture by Michelangelo.
From here we'll make our way to one of the most important and famous museums in Florence: the Galleria degli Uffizi. We'll explain the most important of Da Vinci. Botticelli, Rafael and Caravaggio's works, none of which should be missed if you would like to visit this world famous gallery.
And the tour will continue to immerse you in the history of Florence, taking in the famous Ponte Vecchio crossing the Arno river, before the tour ends in one of the most beautiful spots in central Florence - the Piazza de Santa Croce. Having seen its beautiful facade, we'll recommend some local spots where you can make the most of the famous Tuscan cuisine before putting an end to the tour.
