Florence Food Tour
Gourmet experts insist that you can only say you've truly been somewhere if you've tasted its cuisine. On our Florence Food Tour, we'll do just that as we visit the San Lorenzo Market and several restaurants. We'll also taste lots of delicious, traditional Tuscan products.
Florence Food Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in the Piazza di San Giovanni and start our food tour of Florence. During our tour, we'll stroll through this beautiful city's historic centre and immerse ourselves in its culinary scene.
Before we start walking, we'll go to a coffee shop to try a typical Italian coffee. While we enjoy the coffee's aroma, we'll discuss Italy's important coffee culture. Can you name any Italian coffees? We'll discuss lungo, ristretto, macchiato and more!
After our coffee, we'll head to the San Lorenzo Market, which is also known as Florence's central market. On the way, we'll observe the Florentine architecture around us and make a short stop at a shop where we'll try some truffle-based products. We're in the perfect place to try this delicious delicacy, as the region of Tuscany is famous for cultivating this gourmet fungi.
When we arrive at the San Lorenzo Market, we'll meet some of the vendors who sell their products here every day. As we work our way through the different stalls, you'll be able to sample cheese, cured meats and other signature products such as olive oil and 30-year-aged balsamic vinegar.
Next, we'll taste some wine. We'll explain the characteristics of the different aperitifs and drinks that we'll try so you can gain a deeper understanding of the heritage of Florence's gastronomy. If you've got a sweet tooth, you'll love the cantucci tasting that'll come afterwards, during which we'll taste some local sweet treats.
Following a 1-hour 30-minute activity, we'll say our goodbyes in the Piazza di San Lorenzo. The cherry on top of our unforgettable food tour will be a tasty artisanal ice cream. See you next time!
