Florence Walking Tour

We will meet at the scheduled time in Piazza del Duomo (Duomo Square), heading to Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square) and explore the city of Florence.

Your expert guide will explain the history of Saint Mark's Basilica to you, then you will head to the San Lorenzo district, which is home to the first Medici Palace in Florence and the Medici Chapel.

Next you'll have the opportunity to see the famous open-air market which specializes in leather goods and clothing. The perfect place to buy some souvenirs! Then the tour continues around the city, every step of the way learning more about the Medici family and Florentine history from your English speaking guide.

The tour takes in the very symbol of Florence, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore where the Baptistery, Brunelleschi's Dome and Giotto's Campanile await you. Right next to the Duomo, the guide will show you Dante's house as well as the Bargello.

Then it's on to the Fontana del Porcellino, the famous statue of a bronze boar that can bring you luck if you stroke its (well worn!) nose. You will continue to Piazza della Signoria and Loggia dei Lanzi to admire the beauty of the Palazzo Vecchio: discovering the history of the palace and admiring the open-air museum of the Loggia. You will then see the Vasari Corridor from outside before arriving at the last stop; the Ponte Vecchio.
