Medieval Florence Free Tour

At the agreed time we'll meet at Piazza Santa Maria Novella in order to commence the walking tour that will take us to discover an unknown side of Florence. Are you ready to delve into the city's medieval past?

Although the capital of Tuscany is famous for its Renaissance aesthetics, on this free tour of Florence we'll focus on how people lived here during the Middle Ages and discover why this period reflected a fundamental moment in the history of the city.

We'll stroll through narrow streets, admire old churches such as the Holy Trinity and take in the façades of emblematic palaces such as the Antinori, Bartolini Salimbeni, Spini Feroni and Strozzi. We'll also delve into the rivalries that existed between the wealthy families of the Middle Ages while we'll see medieval towers that once served to show the power of the most important dynasties.

During the tour, you'll learn all about the beliefs and traditions of the Middle Ages and learn how heresy was fought against in Florence

After two hours of sightseeing, we'll round up the free tour of Florence in Piazza Santa Croce.
